zero to hero – to daily prompt or not to use?

I like the daily prompts, it does make me think, it does make me write something. The writing course I attend, our tutor calls it ‘automatic writing’, we are given a choice of maybe five topics, we choose one, the write for five minutes on the chosen topic. The conclusion, is we go round the group, each person reads their piece out loud, they are then given ‘feed back’. Which has to be positive, with suggestions for improvement, or clarification of a word or phrase.

It is, of course, team building and confidence building. We all enjoy this session. If we wish, we can expand on our theme into a piece of prose, or a poem, a short sketch, the possibilities are endless. We do applaud each reader, sometimes too, we get the chance to use a microphone.

Its always a good thing to read your word out loud, even if its just to yourself. The spoken word changes your work into a living thing, not just written lines on a bit of paper.
